Listed among the most important wine competitions in the world, with over 11,000 wines presented every year, Mundus Vini confirms its prestige and authority in the landscape of wine competitions in Germany and worldwide.
The spring 2020 edition brought together, in a six-day tasting, experts, buyers, journalists and opinion makers: 268 jurors from 54 nations to award 43 grand gold medals, 1,546 gold medals and 1,406 silver medals.
Col Sandago, part of the universe of taste of the Hausbrandt Group and located in the heart of the Prosecco Superiore Conegliano Valdobbiadene D.O.C.G., has accompanied its wines on a journey of growth now also acknowledged by the Mundus Vini awards.
Gold medals for Vigna del Cuc and Case Bianche, two different interpretations of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG according to Col Sandago.
Vigna del Cuc Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut 2018, produced exclusively from Glera grapes, stands out thanks to its bright straw yellow color, but also reveals all its “brut” personality with a fine, silky and persistent perlage, obtained through a long re-fermentation process. Its pleasant and fruity aroma offers refreshing hints of green apple. Sapid and fleshy, it is dry and harmonious on the palate. Its low residual sugar allows a pleasant mineral note. Excellent as an aperitif wine, it is also suitable as an all-round wine with delicate, light dishes.
Case Bianche Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry 2018 has a pleasant, typically fruity aroma, leaving a characteristic scent of golden apple, peach and acacia blossom. Refreshing on the palate, with a dry character, Case Bianche holds a pleasant and well-balanced residual sugar that complements its mineral note. Excellent as an aperitif wine, it can be paired with white meats or enhance delicate fruit pastries.
Mundus Vini’s gold medals to Col Sandago are a very important double award which, in addition to being a source of pride, certifies the quality of the work done, both in the vineyard and the cellar.
