Col Sandago’s results at the world’s most prestigious wine competition
Now in their 21st edition, the Decanter World Wine Awards stand out within the panorama of international wine competitions. Over the years, it has established itself as a major competition thanks to the fact that evaluations are entrusted to experts that are selected for their ability and depth of judgment, and it has now announced the 2024 results. More than 18,000 wines from around the world were judged by top experts, including Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers. The medal categories correspond to the 100-point rating system used by Decanter and many of the world’s best wine critics, and the tasting notes are considered must-reads not only among wine enthusiasts.
Col Sandago once again confirms its place on the medal table with two wines proving the estate’s ability to interpret and enhance the most characteristic grape variety of its territory: the Glera. Bronze medal with 88 points respectively for “Case Bianche” Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG – Extra Dry – 2022 vintage and for “Vigna del Cuc” Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG – Brut – 2022 vintage.
For both wines the jury highlighted distinctive aromas and flavors in the accompanying tasting notes:
- for “Case Bianche” “Passion fruit and orange bitters, ripe yellow apple with green and sappy finish”;
- for “Vigna del Cuc” “Gentle notes of apple, pear, acacia and white blossom, savoury finish”.
The wines awarded at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024 represent two of the best facets of Col Sandago, thanks to their innate typicality and strong personality. Identity, skill and pleasantness intertwine in these Col Sandago wines, which can now boast new international medals.
