After a year of research and about 7000 wines tasted, The WineHunter Award – prize of excellence and high quality awarded by the Merano Wine Festival – has chosen and rewarded the Italian and foreign must-haves of the food&wine scene.
With some of its best wines, subjected to rigorous tasting tests, Col Sandago, part of of the universe of taste of the Hausbrandt Group, has obtained prestigious acknowledgments as a testimony to the work pursued in recent years.
With two different versions of its Wildbacher – Rosè and Rosso – as well as Nature, Col Sandago was able to surprise the jury.
- Wildbacher Brut Rosè won a GOLD AWARD. Refined Charmat Method sparkling wine obtained from the Mitteleuropean grape variety of the same name, it has a bright pink color. Its aromatic background combines notes of wild strawberry and rose to anticipate a balanced taste development, which makes Wildbacher Brut Rosè an ideal aperitif.
- Wildbacher IGT Rosso won a ROSSO AWARD. Col Sandago’s “gem” is a unique, prized wine with a limited production, particularly suitable for aging. Obtained from a grape variety of Styrian origin, over the years its aromas mature, becoming austere and warm thanks to its intense red color, which resembles that of a garnet.
- Nature Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. Rive di Susegana Extra Brut won a ROSSO AWARD. Obtained exclusively from Glera grapes that are grown in the vineyards located in the municipality of Susegana, where the clayey soil with sandstone structure offers a delicate minerality. In the glass, its bright straw yellow color is accompanied by a fine, persistent perlage and a bouquet of fruity and floral notes, while its taste is dry and very savory.
These important acknowledgments testify to Col Sandago’s quality, from the work in the vineyard and the cellar, to the search for perfection both in the product and in its presentation.
