Col Sandago Strikes a New Rhythm. Restyling and qualitative repositioning for the two new wines: White Incrocio Manzoni and Red Merlot Marzemino.

The winery deeply renews its still wine line. A bold, tactile look that puts the wine at the centre, celebrating the indissoluble bond between terroir, heritage, and modernity.

Changing pace, daring in design, elevating quality. Col Sandago presents its profound restyling project that redefines the visual and sensory identity of its historic Bianco and Rosso still wines, which now become “White Incrocio Manzoni” and “Red Merlot Marzemino“. This revolution goes beyond aesthetics; it marks a major turning point in quality, redefining the positioning of these two labels within the contemporary winemaking scene.

The Graphic Concept: the central die-cut puts the wine at the centre

The new visual direction for White and Red was created to engage with a young, dynamic, and curious target audience, consumers looking for refined products with an unmistakable style, characterized by an excellent quality-price ratio. The graphic concept dares to break traditional rules through a central die-cut label: a distinctive detail where the label opens up to make room for the true protagonist, the wine. A slanted space where the wine reveals its identity, rhythm, and evolution over time. The label becomes a high-level tactile and visual experience: the use of textured paper marries the refinement of glossy varnish, creating a high-impact interplay of relief and contrasts.

The Qualitative Repositioning

The renewal is not just formal, but delivers a decisive leap in quality in the glass. Both wines are indissolubly linked to their micro-zone of origin and to an even more rigorous agronomic and oenological care, aimed at expressing the excellence and authenticity of the Treviso hills.

White: the purity of Incrocio Manzoni 6.0.13

The most significant product innovation concerns White Incrocio Manzoni Col Sandago. Compared to the past, when the wine was born from a blend of Incrocio Manzoni and Chardonnay, today the winery makes a radical choice: White becomes a pure Incrocio Manzoni 6.0.13.

This turning point celebrates a great Italian story closely tied to the hills of Conegliano. It was right here, nearly a century ago, that Professor Luigi Manzoni created this noble grape variety, bringing together the elegance of Rhine Riesling and the structure of Pinot Bianco. Col Sandago reinterprets this history with a modern twist. An elegant, intense white wine deeply rooted in the Veneto region. White Incrocio Manzoni shines instantly: the nose releases fresh, fruity notes accompanied by a subtle mineral trace that gives it rhythm and identity. In the mouth, it sounds harmonious: dry, balanced, and with a surprising body, sustained by a lively freshness that keeps time until the very last sip. It is one of those sounds that make the soul vibrate: inside, you find research, tradition, and authenticity. White tunes in perfectly with flavours and enhances every pairing with style and naturalness, capable of giving rhythm to an aperitif or stylishly accompanying fish and white meat dishes.

Red: the contemporary union of Merlot and Marzemino

Red Merlot Marzemino Col Sandago is a blend that represents the most enveloping and magnetic interpretation of the Marca Trevigiana: two different souls meeting to create a deep, brilliant, and incredibly contemporary red wine. In the glass, Red Merlot Marzemino strikes with its bright ruby colour. On the nose, it opens with enveloping notes of ripe red fruits, weaving into a rich and magnetic bouquet. On the palate, it is decisive: medium body, good structure, and a long persistence that carries the sip with personality and a strong identity. Red pairs perfectly with roasts, game, and aged cheeses. The ideal counterpoint to every note, it duets with flavours without ever overpowering them. If White Incrocio Manzoni is the light-heartedness of a day trip out of town, Red Merlot Marzemino is the warmth of a dinner with friends, the moment to slow down and let oneself be guided by the deep notes of the music.

With White Incrocio Manzoni and Red Merlot Marzemino, Col Sandago signs two different ways of interpreting the terroir, because for every moment there is the right rhythm: Right Wine, Perfect Time.

Col Sandago and Gold Guide

For years, the Luigi Veronelli Seminar has been publishing the most historical and classic Wine Guide of Italy: the I Vini di Veronelli Gold Guide. Among a selection of wines and estates, the 2025 edition reviews Col Sandago, Martino Zanetti’s winemaking gem, located in the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. area.

The estate presented some of its best wines for tasting, including Prosecco D.O.C.G. wines, but it was Wildbacher’s uniqueness that particularly captured the curators’ favor.

A uniqueness that Luigi Veronelli had already highlighted in a letter addressed to Martino Zanetti in 2001: “The grape variety known as Wildbacher is one of those few, very few, born in foreign lands that have found such an ideal place – Col Sandago – that they can no longer leave…”.

Wildbacher, a rare diamond with a thousand facets, is a grape variety from Styria that was saved from oblivion thanks to Martino Zanetti’s intuition and determination. In the hands of expert agronomists, this proud vine grows like a great little masterpiece, the rows are scrupulously designed, the small bunches, with compact and slightly fleshy grapes, are harvested strictly by hand.

At Col Sandago, Wildbacher is declined in four exceptional variants, three of which are included in the 2025 Gold Guide: “Wildbacher” Colli Trevigiani I.G.T. 2018, Col Sandago’s iconic red, with a limited and precious production and great evolutionary potential, “Wildbacher Metodo Classico” Extra Brut V.S.Q. 2018, a fascinating and persistent expression of the grape variety, and “Wildbacher Brut Rosé” V.S.Q., the refined Charmat Method sparkling wine with aromatic notes of wild strawberry and rose.

The I Vini di Veronelli 2025 Gold Guide once again confirms the greatness and uniqueness of these bottled masterpieces, whose fascinating and captivating history has found a new contemporaneity at Col Sandago.

Bronze medal with 88 points respectively for “Case Bianche” Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG – Extra Dry – 2022 vintage and for “Vigna del Cuc” Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG – Brut – 2022 vintage.

For both wines the jury highlighted distinctive aromas and flavors in the accompanying tasting notes:

  • for “Vigna del Cuc” “Gentle notes of apple, pear, acacia and white blossom, savoury finish.

VINITALY 2024 PREVIEW

Col Sandago chose Vinitaly’s stage for the debut of the Limited Edition “Easy Art” by Martino Zanetti.

The debut of the “Martino Zanetti Art Collection” by Col Sandago is expected during the 2024 Vinitaly fair (scheduled from 14 to 17 April).

From the design of the bottle, which already promises to be a new style icon, to the exclusivity of the new wine, everything in this Limited Edition revolves around luxury and art.

To welcome the absolute novelty of Col Sandago on the Verona stage, a stand with a dual personality: the minimalist white is flanked by colourful brush strokes and the illustration of the green hill with the “white houses” symbol of Col Sandago. A combination ready to reveal the character and peculiarities of the new wine of the company.

The common thread between art and wine is the artistic expression of Martino Zanetti: playful elegance that is expressed on the Art Collection bottle, as on a white sheet in a harmonious whole, with uniqueness, authenticity and coloured lightness.

The edition debuting for spring-summer bears the name of Easy Art: freshness and dynamism drive the chromatic choice and the naturalness of the coloured features, which seem random but actually create harmonious palettes, with the alternation of full and empty spaces, lines ideally connecting reality and feelings.

Inspiration for Col Sandago are the hills of Susegana whose territorial expression is mostly dedicated to the production of Glera-based wines but which, in this wine, is also represented by other vines. That is why “Martino Zanetti Art Collection” contains wisdom and research in a sparkling wine resulting from a selection of the best Col Sandago grapes, with wonderful taste and inimitable style. Brilliant with fine and persistent foam emission, with a pleasant and typically fruity aroma, it is accompanied by a soft and harmonious taste making it excellent as an aperitif and for the whole meal.

The “Martino Zanetti Art Collection” project includes a second limited edition dedicated to the autumn-winter period. “Martino Zanetti Art Collection” by Col Sandago: wine and art, creations whose dual soul releases exceptional sensory experiences, expressing themselves with freshness, dynamism and style.

Vinaltum 2024

Col Sandago participates in the first edition of Vinaltum “Wine connects people” 26 and 27 May Schloss Freudenstein – Appiano (BZ), Italy

Col Sandago participates in the first edition of Vinaltum, “The excellence of wine cellars”, an opportunity to share knowledge, experiences and passions related to the world of wine, dedicated to sommeliers, wine enthusiasts and catering professionals.

The two-day event take place in the majestic Schloss Freudenstein on the hill of Appiano – on 26 and 27 May – a place surrounded by the numerous vineyards extending into this region and an ideal location for meetings, tastings and dedicated insights. At the Col Sandago tasting table, some of the excellences of Martino Zanetti’s estate will be featured, a jewel set in the hills between the municipalities of Susegana and Pieve di Soligo.

“Case Bianche” Prosecco Superiore Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG – Extra Dry – The splendid drinkability of this wine is already visible, with the traditional straw yellow nuance of Prosecco and the silky bubbles with long foaming. The aroma, typically fruity, gives the nose a characteristic hint of apple Golden, peach and acacia flowers. Fresh on the palate, this wine with a harmonious character preserves a pleasant and balanced sugar residue that, however, does not cover its perceptible mineral note.

“Vigna Del Cuc” Prosecco Superiore Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG – Brut as the name suggests, is born on the “cucuzzolo”/summit (from the dialectal term “cuc”), on the surfaces placed at the highest points, adorned by rows and sculpted by diligent work in the vineyard. This wine with a dry and balanced taste can express the deep and unmistakable minerality of the lands in which it grows and manages to narrate the different nuances making it an incredibly lively wine.

Wildbacher Brut Rosé V.S.Q. and Wildbacher IGT of the Treviso Hills: two different interpretations of Wildbacher “rare diamond with a thousand facets”, a vine from Styria that in the hands of the expert agronomists of Col Sandago develops its completely unique character, becoming the original and engaging wine that will also conquer the audience of Vinaltum.
